Abstract
Layunin ng pananaliksik na ito na madalumat ang Pilipinolohiya ng mga piling kantang Ilonggo Pop sa South Cotabato—isang rehiyon na mayaman sa kasaysayan at kulturang Ilonggo. Tinatangka nitong sagutin kung paano naipapahayag sa mga awitin ang kaisipan, kultura, at ugnayang panlipunan ng mga Ilonggo, at kung paano ito nakatutulong sa pagbuo ng kanilang kultural na identidad. Isinagawa ang pag-aaral sa pamamagitan ng kwalitatibong disenyo, gamit ang pagsusuri sa nilalaman at tematikong pagsusuri sa mga liriko ng mga napiling awitin. Ang pagsusuri ay nakatuon sa tatlong pangunahing aspeto: Kaisipan, na sumasaklaw sa mahahalagang ideya at mensahe; Kultura, na nagpapakita ng mga tradisyon at paniniwala; at Lipunan, na tumatalakay sa mga isyung panlipunan at interaksyon sa komunidad. Isinama rin sa metodolohiya ang pakikipanayam sa mga lokal na musikero upang mas mapalalim ang konteksto ng mga awitin. Batay sa mga natuklasan, lumitaw na ang mga kantang Ilonggo Pop ay may malalim na ugnayan sa kasaysayan, pananaw, at karanasan ng mga Ilonggo. Ipinapakita sa mga ito ang pagpapahalaga sa sariling kultura, ang diwa ng pagkakaisa at bayanihan, pati na rin ang mga temang may kinalaman sa pag-asa, katatagan, at optimismo. Sa kabuuan, ipinakikita ng pananaliksik na ang Ilonggo Pop ay hindi lamang isang anyo ng sining, kundi isang makapangyarihang midyum ng pagpapahayag, pagpapanatili, at pagpapalaganap ng kultural na identidad. Sa pamamagitan ng musika, naipapasa ang mga karunungan at tradisyon ng mga Ilonggo sa mga susunod na henerasyon, na siyang nagpapatibay sa kanilang pagkakaisa bilang isang komunidad.
