Extended Service for Students Learning: A Perspective of Students Under National Learning Camp

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the experiences and outcomes of students participating in National Learning Camp's Enhancement Programs on how this extended service impacts them academically and their overall learning experience. The research employed qualitative research methods using a phenomenological approach. The participants of the study were 14 elementary students from Asuncion, Davao del Norte. Based on the findings, the researcher found that the participants experienced engaging in various learning activities, struggling with time management and intense workload, difficulty in establishing interpersonal relationships and social dynamics, and adjusting to the new learning environment. Due to the challenges, they encountered seeking support and guidance from teachers, peer collaboration in facing camp challenges, and fostering self-resilience and determination. The researcher came up with the different insights of the participants: educational impact and effectiveness of the national learning camp, gratifying learning experiences, heightened cognitive development, NLC exceeds students’ expectations, and building confidence in overcoming academic fears.
